Kalka town comes under Panchkula district in the state of Haryana in India. It is placed on NH 22 and lies between Chandigarh and Shimla, and is the terminus of the Kalka-Shimla Railway. Goddess is also situated here. Every year, huge number of holy throng and pilgrims come here during the Hindu festival of Navratri. In the mid 1980's an ancient temple of Balaji (childhood incarnation of Hindu god-Hanuman was excavated in one of the hills overlooking the city. it is slowly developing into a major pilgrim attraction.
