On the Uttar Pradesh border is the uninteresting town of Paonta Sahib. Dedicated to the 10th Sikh guru, Gobind Singh, who lived there between the age of 16 and 20, the town’s Gurudwara is an impressive place, right on the river. During the Holi and Baisakhi festivals in March and April, the temple overflows with pilgrims. Inside the temple is a small museum dedicated to Gobind Singh. Rules for entry are the same for all.

Sikh temples: bring a head covering(or borrow one from a counter on the right at the temple entrances), take off your shoes (leave them at a counter on the left at the temple entrances), and wash your feet before entering.
